I just now FINALLY got the chance to sit down and talk about Anime Expo! I've been so busy with school and life, there just hasn't been enough time DX
Let me start off by talking about something that happened a week or two before AX, Ejen (the author of Cosplay in America) came to my house to take photos of myself, , and working on our cosplay. He went with us on a last minute JoAnn's trip, we went to lunch, and worked on some props and sewing. All in all, it was an amazing experience, and I'm super excited to be in his second book~!
Now, the actual convention.
Day Zero was pretty exhausting, we were behind schedule, and didn't make it out to Los Angeles until 4 or 5. We managed to get our tickets with literally five minutes to spare. By the time all that was taken care of, there wasn't much time for anything else.
Day One was chill because it was Scott Pilgrim day, which is a comfortable, easy costume. Ejen came by our room to take photos/video of us getting ready for the convention. We then spent most of the day checking out the exhibit hall and the new cosplay photo room. I bought 's Double K volume one from artist alley, and he said I was a great Ramona *sparkles*. That evening was the Scott Pilgrim gathering, which was relatively small, but a lot of fun.
Day Two was probably the most hectic and my least favorite day. A lot of our Borderlands cosplay was malfunctioning, and it was 3pm by the time we finally made it to the con. Not much of note happened that day other than a lot of people liking our cosplay.
Day Three was Borderlands again, but we were a lot more prepared this time. I had organized the Borderlands gathering, and though there was a bit of a location mix up, it was a huge success. There were twice as many people as I expected, and everyone was really awesome. The Borderlands fandom is filled with great people. That was definitely the highlight of the convention for me.
Day Four was good, we wore Lollipop Chainsaw, which is one of my favorite cosplays to wear. It's comfortable, and a lot of people like it. (Especially since I have a Nick cosplayer :3) I bought a new Rainbow Dash wig, which I'm hoping to get photos of, and we took a lot of great Lollipop photos.
Overall, I'd say AX was pretty successful, despite a LOT of setbacks. Also, I think I've FINALLY shaken my procrastination, as I have already started on a new cosplay that will possibly be worn at ALA ^^
Cosplay Meme
Haven't done one of these in awhile :P
Q: What is your cosplay alias?
A: Meahow or MeahowCosplay (depending on if my username is taken XP)
Q: How many years have you cosplayed?
A: Exactly ten, I started cosplaying in October 2005.
Q: How did you get into cosplaying?
A: One Halloween I decided to dress up as my favorite anime character, Edward Elric. I made a really awful costume but I enjoyed wearing it. The next month I heard about a local convention and I thought it would be cool if I went in costume. Little did I know, other people would be in costume too. Thus I learned of the world of cosplay.
Q: What was your first convention and ho

In other news, I'm already hard at work at my next couple cosplay projects including Yang from RWBY and Kagome from InuYasha. I'm already excited for Anime Expo~ I may be attending other events/cons between now and then, but I'm not entirely sure yet, we'll see.
I'm still finding ALA pictures here and there, and plan on doing more photo shoots along the way, so more uploads to come~
ALA 2014
Another Anime Los Angeles has come and gone, and this one was yet another success. The line up for this year was Ino Yamanaka (Naruto), Zoey (Left 4 Dead), and female Dean Winchester (Supernatural). Originally we were going to do an InuYasha group for day 3, but time was short, and we felt it was best to save it for a later convention.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with how my cosplays came out. Ino was great, except for the wig, which I'll be working on finding a new solution for. Left 4 Dead was fun as always, and this time we actually dirtied up our cosplays. Supernatural was surprisingly successful, and a great "chill" cosplay. I'm sad I did
2013 Is Over Already???
Every year I like to make some sort of New Years post, just to get some perspective on things.
So... it's 2014.
Honestly, this past year has been one of my most productive cosplay-wise. Anime Los Angeles 2013 was an amazing way to kick off the year, and things just went up from there. Over the course of 2013 I...
Debuted seven brand new cosplays
Learned how to actually sew on my own
Was photographed to be in the second Cosplay in America book
Met Jen and Kelly, Jessica Nigri, Windofthestars, and other cosplayers I admire
And that's just what I did in the cosplay universe, phew, talk about busy!
I also met my cosplay goal for the year, wh
